Disgrace Frosty t-shirt
Disgrace Frosty t-shirt
Disgrace (Frosty December morning version). In European-grown organic 200g cotton, it depicts a famous landmark on Edinburgh’s Calton Hill, the National Monument of Scotland, colloquially known as ‘Edinburgh's Disgrace’ frosted in winter. It was originally intended as a commemoration to fallen Scottish soldiers, and replicates the Parthenon in Athens, but due to lack of funds only a front portico was constructed and a specific purpose was never ascribed. Now it sits, a striking folly on the panorama of the Edinburgh skyline, all drama and no script. A fragment that embodies the folly and violence of Nineteenth-century classical revival architecture and attitudes.
